product name Phenoxybenzamine HCl
Description: Phenoxybenzamine HCl (also known as NSC 37448, NCI-c01661) is a non-specific, irreversible alpha antagonist with an IC50 of 550 NM. It is used in the treatment of hypertension, and specifically that caused by pheochromocytoma. It has a slower onset and a longer-lasting effect compared with other a-blockers. It was also the first alpha blocker to be used for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, although it is rarely used today.
