Description: Paeoniflorin, a glycoside,  is a herbal constituent extracted from the root of Paeonia albiflora Pall. Paeoniflorin has been used as an anticonvulsant and has hypoglycemic effect. This compound reverses guanethidine-induced hypotension by activating Adenosine A1 R (the central Adenosine A1-Rs) in the brain.
