product name Gastrodin
Description: Gastrodin (Gastrodine), an anti-inflammatory polyphenol extracted from Chinese natural herbal Gastrodia elata Blume., benefits neurodegenerative diseases. Gastrodin is the most important and effective ingredient extracted from Chinese natural herbal Gastrodia elata. Gastrodin (30, 40, and 60 mM) significantly attenuates levels of neurotoxic proinflammatory mediators and proinflammatory cytokines by inhibition of the NF-kappaB signaling pathway and phosphorylation of MAPKs in LPS-stimulated microglial cells.

In vitro activity: Gastrodin is the most important and effective ingredient extracted from Chinese natural herbal Gastrodia elata. However, It also upregulates the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3-K)/Akt signaling, resulting in the inhibitory effects NF-kappaB and MAPKs activation in H9c2 cardiomyocytes. In Vivo | Gastrodin at 5 mg/kg can improve cycloheximide- and apomorphine-induced amnesia, but not scopolamine-induced acquisition impairment in rats. Thus, GAS can facilitate memory consolidation and retrieval, but not acquisition. |
