product name Fluorometholone Acetate
Description: Fluorometholone Acetate (also known as NSC 47438) is a synthetic corticosteroid, used in the treatment of steroid responsive inflammatory conditions of the eye. Hourly topical administration of the drug suspension produces an average reduction of 46.8% in the polymorphonuclear leukocytes invading the corneal stroma. In the cornea, fluorometholone acetate appears to have a greater efficacy, as compared to fluorometholone alcohol, for reducing the number of leukocytes invading that tissue following an inflammatory stimulus.
