Description: Gestodene (also known as SH B 331, Δ15-norgestrel or 15-dehydronorgestrel), is a progestogen hormonal contraceptive. It is a steroidal progestin of the 19-nortestosterone group related to norgestrel and levonorgestrel that is used in combination with ethinylestradiol as a hormonal contraceptive. Contraceptive pills containing gestodene do not exhibit the androgenic side effects associated with second-generation contraceptive pills.
