Description: Esomeprazole Sodium, known as Nexium and H-199, is a sodium salt of esomeprazole that is a potent proton pump inhibitor with an IC50 of 0.076 mg/kg. Esomeprazole Sodium is the S-isomer of omeprazole and acts as a proton pump inhibitor gastric antisecretory agent indicated for the short-term treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease in patients with a history of erosive esophagitis.
